Patrick Cochran

Patrick Cochran was born and raised in Missouri.  He attended Southeast Missouri University on the G.I. Bill and received a B.S. in Art and also a B.S. in Art Education.  Cochran worked in Luis Montoya's art foundry for three years where he learned the art of bronze casting.  After leaving the foundry he taught high school art in Jupiter, Florida and middle school in Ft.Pierce, Florida.

In 1993, Cochran opened Shadetree Studio, a fine arts foundry.  Cochran has cast for many well known artists.  His bronze sculptures are a mix of contemporary feelings and attitudes with a humorous slant, and are cast solely at Shadetree studio by himself and his staff of highly trained technicians.

Cochran has exhibited in Colorado, Missouri, Florida, and Rhode Island.  He currently has two sculptures on display on Broward Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale and a collaboration sculpture with Ginny Piech at the Maine Center in Ft.Pierce, Florida.

Cochran currently resides in St.Lucie Village, Florida and is pursuing his career as a bronze sculpture.

Artist Statement:

"My art is an extension of my feelings and instinct and is therefore transformed into my visual response.  As an artist I attempt to create sculpture which awakens emotions within the viewer.  It is important to me that those who critique my work question not only how the sculpture was done, but more importantly why."
