Washington, DC – September 25 – Now in its fourth year, the Food Glorious Food Show serves up an eclectic menu of paintings, sculpture and photographs depicting food in all its fabulous forms.  Cooked up by the Zenith Community Arts Foundation (ZCAF), the show’s mix of food, art and charity is a recipe that pleases the palates of art patrons and food aficionados, while raising money for the Capital Area Food Bank through a fundraising event on October 23, the sale of original art, a calendar showcasing pieces from the show and the sale of Giclée prints of select art from the calendar.  

The theme of the show is Changing Courses, and as in the past, artworks in the exhibition will be featured in the Food Glorious Food 2009 Calendar, along with recipes contributed by top area chefs.  The calendar will be available for a minimum donation of $15 at numerous locations, with all proceeds going to the food bank. 

Opening Event – The Zenith Community Arts Foundation will launch the show and 2009 calendar at Zenith Gallery on Thursday, October 23, beginning at 7pm.  Highlights of the festive evening will include a silent auction and tasty treats prepared by participating chefs.  Tickets to the popular event, benefiting the Capital Area Food Bank, are $50 per person and each guest receives a complimentary calendar. 

Participating Chefs /Restaurants – Chef’s and restaurants contributing coveted recipes to the calendar are 701, Black Salt, Chef Geoff’s, Citronelle, Good Stuff Eatery, Jose Andrès, Locanda, PS7’s, Rasika, Restaurant Nora, Rock Creek and Vegetate.

The Zenith Community Arts Foundation (ZCAF) – Established by Margery E. Goldberg in 2000, ZCAF is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) committed to arts advocacy, collaboration and using art to benefit community.  Among ZCAF’s most successful projects is the annual Food Glorious Food project, which has raised more than $75,000, to date, for the Capital Area Food Bank.  Other projects include The Freedom Place Collection, which was unveiled at Zenith Gallery in 2007, featuring privately owned works by artists Romare Bearden, Benny Andrews, Alma Thomas, Robert Freeman and Richard Yarde, and eARThly.concerns, a program to benefit environmental nonprofits.  ZCAF is currently touring The Freedom Place Collection, which has been shown at Meridian International House and Congressional Bank, and is scheduled for the University of New England in Portland, ME. 

Zenith Gallery – Now celebrating its 30^th Anniversary year, Zenith is recognized for its varied selection of abstract, contemporary and realism paintings and sculpture.  Zenith has been placing art in public, residential and corporate collections throughout the Washington metropolitan area, nationally and internationally since opening its doors.  Zenith Gallery is a member of the Art Dealers Association of Greater Washington and Zenith founder Margery E. Goldberg serves as its treasurer.
