Biography

 

William Buchanan received his Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from LeMoyne Owen College in Memphis, Tennessee. In addition to his studies at Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi, he studied painting, drawing, and design at the Peninsula School of Arts in Door County, University of Wisconsin at Green Bay, Wisconsin. Williamís nature-inspired artwork has earned him a number of awards including First Prize Painting for the Tenth Annual Atlanta Life African-American National Art Competition and Exhibition and two Hambidge Center Fellowships.
