MEREDITH MORRIS

Mixed media and oil portraiture that is a cautionary tale. This piece was created prior to the election and was to serve as a cautionary tale that showed, through the comments of the free press, how the country was on the brink of a unimaginable abyss should it elect Donald Trump to the Presidency. From well thought out opinion pieces to political cartoons to letters to the editor, the warning bells were rung loudly. To drive this message I painted a man burning with hatred and egotistical zeal. His one interest: to grab power for powers sake and self aggrandizement. The image is surrounded by total darkness...of the soul and the possible outcome for our country and planet.
